Keyboard or Controller Not Working?
Fix browser focus, keyboard input, Xbox or generic gamepad detection, and Steam Demo controller fallback. The controls are simple; getting the H5 window to listen is the real first step.
Before you play
Make the browser listen to you
Click inside the game first
The browser build has to capture focus before movement works. If WASD or arrows do nothing, click once inside the game window and try again.
Plug in the controller before loading
Browsers detect gamepads more reliably when the controller is already connected before the H5 build starts.
Use Chrome or Firefox for gamepads
Gamepad support depends on the browser. Chrome and Firefox are the safest desktop choices for the web version.
Use Steam Demo for PlayStation pads
The Steam Demo explicitly adds PlayStation controller support. Use that version if a DualSense or DualShock is unreliable in the browser.
